Website Design Prices in Auckland
Clear starting prices, a fixed quote before any work begins, and no lock-in contracts. Here is what a custom website costs and what you get for it.
Our website design prices in Auckland start from $3,500 +GST for a custom small-business site. Most of the business websites we build land between $3,500 and $8,000 +GST, while e-commerce and larger sites typically run from about $8,000 to $15,000+ +GST. Every project gets its own fixed-price quote before work starts, so you know exactly what you are paying for.
Below are our three most common website packages for NZ businesses, what is included in every build, and the things that move the price up or down.
Website packages and starting prices
These are starting points, not rigid bundles. We quote each project on what you actually need, but most businesses fit one of these comfortably.

Online store
E-commerce Website
From $8,000 +GST
For retailers and brands selling online, on Shopify or WordPress, with products, payments and shipping set up for New Zealand.
- Custom store design
- Product and category structure built for SEO
- NZ payment gateways such as Windcave or Stripe
- GST-inclusive price display
- NZ Post and courier shipping rules
Larger builds with many pages, custom functionality or complex integrations can go to $15,000 or more. If you are unsure which tier fits, the free website plan will tell you.
The right tier depends less on the size of your business and more on how many services and areas you want to rank for. A sole trader covering several suburbs may need the Business tier, while a larger firm with one core service can do well with Essentials. We will recommend the smallest build that does the job, and you can add pages later as you grow. See our small business website design and e-commerce website design pages for more on each.
What is included in every website build
Whatever the size of your project, these come as standard. They are the foundations that make a site rank and convert, so we do not treat them as extras.
- Custom design based on your business, customers and competition
- Mobile-first layouts tested on real phones, tablets and desktops
- Page speed optimisation with Core Web Vitals in mind
- SEO structure: page hierarchy, titles, meta descriptions and headings
- Schema markup so Google understands your business
- Google Business Profile integration for local search
- Clear calls to action, click-to-call buttons and enquiry forms
- A CMS you can update yourself, plus a walkthrough on how to use it
- SSL certificate and basic security setup
- Google Search Console and Google Analytics set up at launch
- 301 redirects from your old site if you are replacing one
- Full ownership of your domain, design, content and code
If you are replacing an existing website, the redirects and SEO migration checks are what protect the rankings you already have. Our website redesign service explains that side in more detail.
What changes the price of a website
Two websites with the same number of pages can be priced quite differently. These are the main factors we look at when we quote:
| Factor | Why it affects price |
|---|---|
| Number of pages | Each service or location page needs its own layout, keywords and content. |
| Content writing | Writing SEO-friendly copy from scratch takes more time than working with copy you supply. |
| Features and integrations | Booking systems, CRMs, calculators, member areas or custom forms add build and testing time. |
| E-commerce scope | Product count, variants, shipping rules and payment setup all add work. |
| Platform | WordPress, Shopify, Webflow and hand-coded sites each suit different needs and budgets. |
| Redesign and migration | Moving an existing site safely means auditing old pages and mapping redirects. |

Ongoing services, quoted after your free plan
Your website is a one-off fixed-price project. Ongoing services are optional, and we only quote them once we understand your business, competition and goals. That way you pay for what will actually move the needle, not a generic monthly bundle.
SEO
Local SEO, content and technical improvements to grow your organic traffic over time.
Google Ads management
Campaigns set up and managed to bring in enquiries while your SEO builds.
Maintenance and hosting
NZ hosting, security updates, backups and small content changes.
AI automation
Instant replies to enquiries 24/7, booking, quote follow-ups and review requests.
Payment terms
Payment is typically a deposit to start and the balance at launch, confirmed in your quote. There are no lock-in contracts on any of our services. Once your website is paid for, everything we built is yours outright.
Comparing quotes? Check that each one includes SEO setup, mobile testing, redirects and full ownership. A cheaper quote that leaves these out often costs more to fix later.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a small business website cost in Auckland?
Most custom small-business websites we build cost between $3,500 and $8,000 +GST. Where you land depends on the number of pages, how much content we write, and any features such as booking, quote forms or integrations. E-commerce and larger sites typically start around $8,000 and can go to $15,000 or more.
Is your quote fixed or will the price change?
Your quote is fixed. We agree the scope in writing before work starts, and that is the price you pay for that scope. If you later ask for something extra, such as more pages or a new feature, we quote it separately so you can decide before any cost is added.
Do your prices include GST?
No. Our prices are shown excluding GST, which is how most New Zealand businesses compare supplier costs. GST is added to your invoice at the standard rate. Your written quote will show both the GST-exclusive and GST-inclusive amounts so there is no confusion.
How do payments work?
Payment is typically a deposit to start and the balance at launch. The exact split and timing are confirmed in your quote before you commit. We do not take final payment until the website is finished and you are happy for it to go live.
Are there ongoing monthly fees?
Only if you choose them. Your website is yours once paid for. Hosting is needed to keep any site online, and we offer NZ hosting and maintenance, but you are free to host elsewhere. SEO, Google Ads management and AI automation are optional and quoted after your free website plan.
Why are some web designers much cheaper?
Very low prices usually mean a template with your logo dropped in, little or no SEO setup, and sometimes a contract that means you never own the site. That can be fine for a placeholder, but it rarely brings in enquiries. Ask any provider exactly what is included before comparing prices.
