How to get the most from these answers
Most of the questions below come up on our free website plan calls, and the honest answer to many of them is "it depends on your business". Where that is true, we have explained what it depends on. Prices are shown in NZD and exclude GST, and timelines are typical ranges rather than promises.

Frequently asked questions
What does a professional website cost in New Zealand?
For a custom small-business website we typically quote between $3,500 and $8,000 +GST. E-commerce and larger sites usually start around $8,000 and can reach $15,000 or more. Every project is quoted individually at a fixed price, so you know the full cost before any work begins.
How quickly can my new website go live?
Most custom business websites launch one to four weeks after kick-off. Online stores and larger sites generally take five to twelve weeks. The timeline depends mostly on how fast content and feedback come together, so having your text, photos and decisions ready keeps things moving.
Who owns the website once it is finished?
You do. Once the project is paid for, the domain, design, content and code belong to you outright. We do not use lock-in contracts, and if you ever want to move to another provider we will hand everything over without fuss.
Is SEO included in a new website build?
Yes, the SEO foundations are part of every build. That includes site structure, keyword mapping, page speed, schema markup, titles, meta descriptions and Google Business Profile integration. Ongoing SEO work, such as content and link building after launch, is a separate optional service quoted after your free plan.
Do you provide website hosting?
Yes. We offer NZ hosting with security updates, backups and maintenance so your site stays fast and protected. You are not required to host with us, though. Because you own your website, you can choose any reputable host you like.
Can you write the content for my website?
Yes. Many clients ask us to write their copy because it is the part that tends to stall projects. We write content that explains your services clearly and is planned around the searches your customers make. If you prefer to write your own, we will edit and optimise it for search.
Can you redesign my existing website without losing rankings?
Yes. We audit your current pages, keep anything that ranks or converts, and set up 301 redirects from old addresses to the new ones. We follow a full SEO migration checklist and check Google Search Console after launch to catch any issues early.
Which website platforms do you build on?
We mainly build on WordPress, Shopify and Webflow, and we also hand-code static sites when speed is the priority. We have plenty of experience fixing Wix and Squarespace sites too. We recommend a platform based on what you need to do with your site, not on habit.
Can you build an online store for a New Zealand business?
Yes. We build e-commerce sites with NZ payment gateways such as Windcave or Stripe, GST-inclusive price display, and shipping rules for NZ Post and couriers. Buy-now-pay-later options such as Afterpay can also be added where they suit your products.
What ongoing maintenance does a website need?
Every site needs regular software and security updates, reliable backups and someone to fix things when they break. Content also needs refreshing so it stays accurate and keeps ranking. Our maintenance and hosting service covers the technical side, and we quote it once we know what your site needs.
How do I pay for my website project?
Payment is typically a deposit to start and the balance at launch. The exact amounts and timing are confirmed in your written quote before you commit, so there are no surprises. Prices are quoted excluding GST, with GST added to your invoice.
Do I need to be in Auckland to work with you?
No. We are based in Auckland and happy to meet at your premises or a café anywhere across the city, but we also work with businesses throughout New Zealand. Video calls, shared documents and email make it easy to run a project wherever you are.
Can you run Google Ads for my business as well?
Yes. We set up and manage Google Ads campaigns aimed at bringing in enquiries, which is especially useful while your organic rankings build. Because we built your website, we can make sure the landing pages match your ads. Management is quoted after your free website plan.
What does the AI assistant actually do?
It replies to website enquiries instantly, 24 hours a day, answers common questions and can book calls or appointments into your calendar. It can also follow up quotes automatically, send review requests after a job and nudge past customers to come back. It is an optional add-on.
What should I prepare before our first call?
Nothing formal. It helps to know the services you want to promote, the areas you cover, a few competitors you come up against and roughly what budget you have in mind. If you have a current website or Google Business Profile, have the address handy.
Do you guarantee first place on Google?
No, and you should be wary of anyone who does. Nobody controls Google's rankings. What we do is build the technical and content foundations that give you the best chance to rank, then report results honestly so you can see what is working.
